Community Forum

A Community Forum was held on May 8, 2018 in the cafeteria of Laurel Ridge Middle School.  The forum focused on information and updates related to the projects being funded by the 2016 Capital Bond fund.  There was an update on the new high school, as well as deferred maintenance projects, safety and security, curriculum, and technology.  Click here to view the whole presentation. 

Hard Hat Sticker Contest

Students from Liz Barrett's Graphic Design class were invited to take part in a contest to design the stickers that will go on the hard hats for all of those working on the new high school project.  Over 25 amazing designs were submitted and in the end, senior, Ethan Elmore's design was selected.  Congratulations Ethan on your winning design! 

                

Virtual Reality Tour

Students from Jon Dickover's construction classes were given the opportunity to take part in a virtual reality tour of the new high school.  The tour was put on by Skanska, the general contractor for the project.  Students were able to see site plan drawings and "walk" the building, as well as experience first hand how technology is enhancing innovation in the construction field.  

        

Construction Intern Wanted

Skanska, along with Sherwood School District, is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to one Sherwood High School student.  We are looking for a paid construction intern for the summer of 2018. This intern will assist the Project Engineer and Project Manager on the new high school project.  The position will work under direct supervision performing accounting activities, estimating functions, and daily activities all while gaining knowledge of the basic phases of construction projects.  For more information and to print an application please click here.

Spring Break Work

The District is taking advantage of the empty buildings the week of spring break and getting a jump start on summer 2018 bond work, including a flooring update in the Middleton cafeteria and abatement work at Sherwood Middle School and Hopkins.

Future Home of Sherwood High School

New signage has been posted at the site for the new high school, showing updated renderings of the building.  Continued thanks to the Sherwood Community for your support!




DAS and Cell Boost Upgrade

Representatives from Washington County, the City of Sherwood, Sherwood Police Department and TVFR toured the Ridges Campus on March 6, 2018 to test the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) and Cell Boost System upgrades.  This system provides improved communication abilities to the fire department and public safety officers, as well as improvements in cellular service reception.
